Everything I mean everything in our world has become gimme gimme gimme and all about me mentality in our culture today. This is not only just in culture but is starting to shift into the church world too. The church has gotten caught up in how to best make the church thrive instead of focusing on how to make the gospel thrive.

Bridges talks about how as humans we have a selfish nature, we see it at the start of our lives as toddlers walking around having to be reminded to share. This act of selfishness doesn’t just dissolve as we age. It continues to guide our lives and primary focus even more as we age, we get caught up in societies calls for how our lives should look. We tend to see this mostly in how we handle on our money, in our society that is all about what we want instead of necessity, we tend to bend to what culture wants us to in the me too aspect of wanting things others have.

Justin Bieber criticizes celebrity pastors who place themselves — The Christian Post

An example of this in our society today is the “celebrity” pastors that have put themselves on pedestals to promote themselves or the church instead of the gospel. I think this is something that we tend to ignore, or put off because it seems like they are leading so many lives to Christ, when in reality they are just leading people to their church congregation. Justin Bieber recently made a statement on how celebrity pastors act and how they place themselves on a pedestal. Bieber just released an gospel album and has been spending more time modeling his home to be a christian home he shares that he has looked to his home church pastor more then celebrity pastors because of how personable and “real” they are.
