Wrapping it up

So what are we to do…..

As Bridge’s took us through the subtle sins in our lives and the things we as human beings in our sin nature tend to let slip by or not care about. Bridges ends his book stating the point of the book was to make you uncomfortable because it was intended to make you realize and bring to light those subtle sins that you have in your life. As Bridges went into great length about how you won’t deal with it as a sin in your life unless you recognize that it is there. The very ending of his book closes with 1 Peter 5:5 which states the “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble” if we humble ourselves we can call on the Holy Spirit to enable us to overcome our sins even the subtle ones.

Dr. Billy Holland Jr. speaks about trusting God in times of uncertainty, where we are facing this right now, I think this helps bring to light a lot of things the Bridges spoke on in his text, about how we need to humble ourselves in order to be free of our sin, we have to rely on God not on the world or culture. I believe that this is especially necessary in the time that our world is facing right now.
